Ruby and her toilet paper baby

My little Ruby has got to be one of my strangest kids. She entertains all of us and amazes us on a daily basis. She loves babies and loves to play babies and she has a ton of babies, but for some reason the other day she was pretending that this toilet paper roll was her baby. In the picture above she lay ed it down and put blankets on it and then started to "burp her baby". I need to start writing down all of the goofy things she does. This is just one in many.

Snow 2008!!!!

It has been snowing and snowing and snowing over here for over a week now. I have been loving it. It is so beautiful. I think that most people around here are hating it though. I don't mind because I am stuck at home anyway. The kids have been having so much fun playing in it.

Twins 2 months

I decided to keep the picture of the twins crying because that is a true representation of how they are. They seem to join in together in crying harmony quite often.

RSV (Respiratory syncytial virus)

I have been trying so hard to keep the twins inside and the germs away. RSV is a virus that can be dangerous if preemie babies get it because it can go down into their lungs and cause breathing problems. To adults and older kids it is just a bad cold. RSV season just started over here and with our luck, most of us got it including Shae. Shae started coughing on a Thursday night and by Sunday he was having trouble breathing so we had to go to the emergency room. He was admitted and put on oxygen. There was not much they could do except watch his oxygen level and suction him out. I was so scared because babies can get extremely sick from this. Well Shae pulled through and is recovering well. He only had to stay at the hospital until Wednesday and he is doing much better. Kai and Ruby have been coughing non stop and now both have ear infections. Peyton just told me today that she thinks she is sick and unfortunately Sydney is now showing symptoms. I hope Sydney's does not go into her lungs otherwise we will be back in the hospital. It had been fun times here at the Heath house. 2008 as been one of our most challenging years.

Christmas Tree

We broke tradition this year. We normally go to a tree farm the day after Thanksgiving and cut one down, but because of my sister we were not able to nor did we have the desire to. I did not want to wait any longer, I wanted to try to maybe change the mood around here and try to get a little Christmas spirit going on. The tree farm is only open on the weekend and it was Tuesday so I convinced zak to let us just go to Home Depot this year. Zak had the hardest time he did not want to has he said it "shop" for a Christmas tree, but he agreed that it might help us all to get into the spirit. It was very strange to hunt for a tree at the Depot, but we were successful and all agree that this tree might be our favorite so far.

Heather

Last week my older sister Heather passed away. We were very close and I will miss her deeply. This is a very difficult time for me and my family. It has not fully sunk in yet. We have set up a blog for Heather and would like anyone who knew her to please write something they remember about her. We will eventually make it into a book and give it to her kids.

Today is the babies due date!

I cannot believe that today is the day they were due. I feel like I have already had them for so long now. They are such sweet babies. I feel so blessed. I have never been more tired in my life before. It is definitely harder then I thought it would be. I really do love it though.

Kai

I just wanted to put an updated picture of Kai up. He is getting so big.

More pictures of the babies

These are just pictures of the babies room and when they got to be in the same bed. They look to cute together.

They are home!

I am really late to post, my life has been turned upside down. Shae came home first. He only stayed for 3 weeks! They say most often the girls come home before the boys do. I felt bad for Sydney, here she is all by herself and its all Shae's fault. She was born early because of him and she ends up staying longer. Sydney stayed one week longer. It was actually nice to start out with one baby because I did not fully know what was in store for me with 2. It is so much harder then I thought it would be. It is non stop day and night. I think it will eventually get better, hopefully. I sure love it though. I look at them often and feel so lucky and blessed.

Halloween

I am late to post this, but here is the pathetic Halloween picture for this year. This is really all that was taken. I love Halloween, but I was not able to devote any time or thought into it b/c to much was going on. I was very happy with myself that in past years I bought costumes on sale after Halloween because I did not have to buy any this year. Peyton was a witch, Kai was an astronaut and Ruby was nemo. I was able to go to our wards Trunk or treat because it was the week before Halloween, but Shae was home with us on Halloween so I did not get to go. Zak took the kids out without me. I was sad about that. Instead Shae and I went to the hospital to visit Sydney.

Shae and Sydney

I tried to hold them together a lot because I felt bad that they had to be in separated.

Shae Russell

Time: 10-6-08
Weight: 3lbs 12 oz

Length: 17 inches

These pictures of him break my heart. He looked and acted like he felt miserable.

Sydney Joan

Time: 10-6-08 @ 2:11 p.m

weight: 3lbs 13 oz

length: 17.25 inches
She looked more peaceful then Shae did when he was first born.

At 32.2 weeks I had the babies!

I finally have a minute to post. It has been a crazy month! My baby boy's heartbeat kept going down and the doctors could not figure out why and they were concerned that he may not be doing very good so I had to have a Cesarean section. I was so scared and have had a hard time dealing with them having to be born. In the end the babies are doing very well. I think the doctors made the right decision.

my new residence

I am now at the hospital. :(Everything is okay so far, my doctor is just being cautious. The boys heartbeat drops sometimes and they do not know why. It seems to have gotten better so I am hopeful that I will not be here until the end. My doctor does not think I will be going home anytime soon though. I am so bored!!! This is hard to cope with. I am so grateful for my family and all of there help with the kids, it seems to be working out okay so far.

Ruby

I don't take very good pictures and I realized I have not taken very many of Ruby and she is growing up so fast.

First day of school

I am a little late in posting this, school started two weeks ago. I had to go to the hospital for a few days and am now on bed rest. Everything is fine, I just have to stay down and take medication to control the contractions. So far so good.
I have kind of had a hard time with school starting this year. My sweet Peyton is gone all day now and I miss her. I was also so sad to have Kai start kindergarten. He seems so little to me. I think it is the pregnancy hormones making things worse because I have been so emotional about it.

26.2 weeks pregnant

3 days before I had Ruby

This is a picture of me 3 days before I had Ruby. I have now reached the point where I am as big as I was when I had my last baby. At my last appointment my cervix was shorter so I was put on a partial bed rest. I am suppose to take it easy and try to lay around as much as possible. Other then that, all is well. The Summer weather left last week. It has been 60's and raining. At least it makes it easier to lay around and not feel bad that my kids are missing out on anything. School starts next week and the kids are so excited. I will finally take more pictures of them and post it when school starts.

24.2 weeks pregnant now

I had an appointment today. Both babies are head down! I hope they stay that way. I am now measuring 33 centimeters! I am exhausted all the time the now. I barely walk and I am huffing and puffing. Other then that everything is going well.

Kai is now 5!

July is birthday month. Kai turned 5 and we had a day full of fun. He had mentioned back on Mother's day when I got breakfast in bed, that on his birthday he wanted breakfast is bed. So Zak made him his favorite bacon, eggs and pancakes and we gave it to him in out bed so he could watch cartoons while eating it. He was so excited and so cute about it. He wanted to see a movie so we went and saw Walle with his cousins. For the party he chose to go to Chucke E. Cheese. It was better then I thought it would be. Kai had so much fun. He is such a shy little boy, he did not like being sung to or getting all the attention form Chucke and the staff.

Ruby turned 2 !

My little girl turned 2. We went to a place called Jungle Playland. The kids had lots of fun. Ruby is such a unique and funny little girl, I feel so blessed to have her. She is so full of personality, and herself.
